Consultation & Preparation

Before starting your chemical peel treatment, we always perform a consultation to make sure the treatment is right for you.

What’s different about this consultation is that we perform numerous tests to ensure your skin is healthy and thick enough for a chemical peel. If Dr. Neal has any concerns, she’ll recommend another course of action to help you achieve your desired results.

We may also provide you with a preparation routine leading up to your treatment. Some of our recommendations may include minimizing the time you spend outside, using sunscreen, and avoiding treatments like waxing or dermabrasion.

The Chemical Peel Treatment

Before we apply the chemical peel solution, we’ll cleanse your skin and place some protection around your eyes, nose, and mouth.

Once we’re ready, we’ll apply the treatment to your skin using cotton balls or gauze. You might feel some tingling at this point. Afterwards, we’ll apply a neutralizing wash to complete the treatment.

Managing Your Recovery

Your skin may look a little bit red or irritated following treatment, but this is normal. Depending on the solution we use to perform your peel, you might also experience mild tingling sensations afterward.
